The easy-to-use reclining handle lets you shift from morning coffee to reading to dozing off without changing chairs. Standard garden chairs keep you upright whether you like it or not. Ours don’t.

The frame is powder-coated aluminium, which cannot rust, meaning you can leave it outside all year round without worrying about the usual steel-frame rot. That matters because steel corrodes from the inside out, especially around joints and bolt holes, so by the time rust shows on the outside the damage has already started. Aluminium-framed sets are built for well over 10 years with proper cushion care. The rattan wrapped around it is UV-stabilised HDPE, not PVC type that goes brittle and fades after a couple of hot summers.

The back cushions are 10cm thick, which is the point where you can actually stay put for an afternoon instead of feeling them flatten after about 30–40 minutes like the usual 6–8cm cushions on lower-end sets. Each chair measures 78cm wide x 66cm deep x 97cm high, with a 48cm seat height, so they feel supportive without swallowing a smaller patio. The table stands 55cm high and has a 5mm clear tempered safety glass top, which handles British temperature swings without cracking.

Care is straightforward. All you need to do is store the cushions away when you’re not using them and keep them indoors over winter. They’re not waterproof by design because non-waterproof cushions feel better for sitting, don’t develop that clammy feel, and the coating on waterproof styles can crack after a couple of summers in UV. The covers come off for a 30°C machine wash, and the frame and rattan just need a damp cloth or a quick rinse with the hose.
