The frame is aluminium, so it cannot rust, meaning you can leave it outside all year round without worrying about the usual steel-frame decay. Steel rusts from the inside out, especially around joints and bolt holes where moisture gets in first. By the time you see rust, the damage is already done. This set uses UV-stabilised synthetic rattan over that aluminium frame, which matters because PVC rattan turns brittle and fades after a couple of summers. Ours is built for years, not a couple of decent bank holidays.

The chair backs are 99cm high, so you get proper support rather than that cut-off feeling lower dining chairs give you. The table height is 74cm, which is what makes this a real dining set rather than a low table that only really works for mugs and plates balanced on knees. And because the glass is tempered safety glass, it handles British temperature swings far better than standard glass.

Care is straightforward. All you need to do is store the cushions indoors when you’re not using them, then clean the rattan and frame with a damp cloth or hose them down if needed. For stubborn dirt, warm soapy water and a soft brush does the job. The cushion covers can go in the washing machine at 30°C. We don’t use waterproof cushions because they feel clammy, trap heat, and the coating tends to crack after a couple of summers. Comfort wins.
